Edward Andrews Homes partnered with HomeAid Atlanta for two HomeAid Care Days in late October. The goal was to expand office space for Out of Darkness, an Atlanta nonprofit working to help restore the lives of victims of sexual exploitation, located at the Atlanta Dream Center. Volunteers worked together to frame, hang drywall, run electrical and HVAC, install doors, and paint the new office space, which will help Out of Darkness achieve its mission.
“Edward Andrews Homes strongly believes in supporting nonprofit groups in metro Atlanta. Many of EA Homes’ employees were involved in the HomeAid Care Days at Out of Darkness (OOD). HomeAid helped lead the way, and many of our regular trade and labor contractors made generous donations, making the new office space a reality for OOD. EA Homes had a great time working together to help with an important project that will make an enormous difference for OOD and the people they serve,” said John Fanning, Edward Andrews Homes Senior Quality Manager.
Jeff Shaw, Director of Rescue & Restoration at Atlanta Dream Center stated, “Atlanta Dream Center is so grateful for the work of HomeAid and EA Homes. They were so thorough in their preparation, and the job they did with our offices was beyond what we imagined! The icing on the cake was how friendly everyone was and the excitement that the team had to help us advance our mission.”
The donations and work performed saved Out of Darkness approximately $13,000, an amazing savings for the nonprofit organization. In addition to Edward Andrews Homes, donations were given by D & L Heating and Air, The Home Depot, KSR Builders, Inc., LaFlamme Electric, Sherwin-Williams, Southeast Install, Stock Building Supply, and Threat Drywall.

HomeAid Atlanta, founded in 2001, is a nonprofit organization that builds new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach.
