Now that March in full swing, it’s high time to update your home with the latest designs and send the old styles out. With this year’s spring fashions boasting bold prints and colorful patterns, it’s easy to take them off the runway and into your home. Here are a few of our favorites:
- Black and white stripes – Black and white has been on the runway since 2012, and keeps returning for good reason. This classic stripe can be updated to fit your style, whatever it may be. Create an elegant “Parisian” style by using pinstripes and chunky stripeswill create a bold look in any small space.
- Floral – What would spring fashion be without flowers? This year, many designers, including Oscar de la Renta, mixed up their floral patterns by focusing on a traditional garden mix and going tropical with large fan leaves, bright flowers and birds. Taking a floral pattern to an outside patio space can complement the true elements of outdoor spring or keep them inside and mix them with bold stripes for the perfect pairing.
- Tribal – Take some notes from Valentino – whose spring collection harnessed ancient and modern tribal prints of bold geometric shapes and lines. If you are hesitant to fully commit to such a bold pattern in your home, start small with a throw pillow or even tribal-themed accessories like a rug or ottoman.
- Geological – Marble, geode and crystal are just a few patterns that are making a big impact this year. Whether you’re picking a marble countertop for your kitchen, or going for a bold coffee table statement piece for your living space, this natural pattern is one that can be easily incorporated from room to room.
