The National Association of Home Builders’ 2014 International Builders Show (IBS), “Expect More,” made a big promise, and that is exactly what the Edward Andrews Homes team (and the other 75,000 international attendees) got during our three days at the show.

Held in Las Vegas, the city was jam packed with industry professionals, as this year was the first that the IBS and the Kitchen & Bath Industry Shows were combined to stretch more than 650,000 square feet of the entire convention center to accommodate the 1,700 exhibitors.

Design and construction were huge aspects of this year’s show, and IBS offered countless options to learn more during the week. Design leaders, Moen and Kohler, showcased their latest and greatest products. New technologies were displayed as Moen’s motion-activated kitchen faucet was a hit with attendees. Kohler’s exhibit featured shower heads with built-in speakers and water dispersing technology that reduces water waste by its innovative rotating shower head.

Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore & Co. exhibits featured the newest paint trends and one of EA Homes’ partners, Kountry, offered an array of cabinetry options. Construction industry professionals displayed building, roofing, tiles, flooring and countertop design trends. More exhibits and classes focused on business leadership, marketing, technology within the business, networking opportunities, sales and social media and provided great insights for running a smart, efficient firm with great customer service.

There were also great opportunities to continue connecting our team with other local and national professionals during reception hours, and discuss what’s next for our industries. After the receptions, four-time Grammy-winner Pat Benatar closed the show Thursday night at the IBS Spike Concert.

We can’t wait to get started with what we’ve learned at this year’s IBS show. For more information on the conference, visit the IBS website.
